Pole-Mounted Field Enclosures
IP Enclosures’ pole‑mounted field enclosures are engineered to house sensitive data network and electrical equipment in heavy-duty outdoor environments such as road traffic systems, and industrial applications. These compact enclosures (450 x 350 x 225 mm to 12 RU layouts) provide IP66 protection for non‑ventilated models and IP55 for ventilated configurations, along with IK10 mechanical resistance for robust performance under demanding exposure.
Constructed from 1.5 mm galvanised steel with a fully welded monoblock body and powder-coated in UL-approved T33 Smoke Blue smooth finish, these cabinets offer excellent corrosion resistance and visual conformity to infrastructure standards. They feature recessed doors made from 2.0 mm sheet steel with concealed removable hinges, key-lock swing handles, and door stays for secure and easy access. To prevent vandalism and unauthorised entry, the enclosures feature recessed doors.
Ventilated versions include factory-cut fan and vent cut-outs covered by hinged vent hoods with airflow capability rated up to IP55 when used with compatible fans and filters. This eliminates on-site modifications, reduces labour time, and guards edge corrosion thanks to the factory powder coat finish being applied prior to aperture creation. Internally, cabinets provide pre-fitted mounting plates (1.5 mm galvanised steel) and M6 earth studs. These field enclosures are ideal for critical field applications where compact footprint, speed of installation, and reliability are essential.

Body:
The robust monoblock body is fabricated using 1.5mm galvanised steel sheet. Precision automated manufacturing equipment ensures accuracy and consistent high quality. Flat face sealing surfaces increase seal life. Integral device plate mounts and M6 earth stud are included. Fan/filter cutouts and hinged vent hoods are provided as standard. Non-ventilated option is also available.(Fans and filters and ordered separately).
Door:
The front door is fabricated using 2.0mm galvanised steel sheet and is designed to provide flush recessed mounting to prevent vandalism and unauthorised access. The door incorporates concealed removable hinges with captive pins. It is hinged on the left side, designed for a 110° opening and is provided with a heavy duty door stay. An A4 plan pocket is provided.
19″ Data Rack Rails (for 12RU unit only):
Front and rear 19″ data rack rails are fabricated from 1.5mm galvanised steel sheet.
Seals:
A high quality machine-applied full perimeter UL listed Polyurethane seal foamed in place (FIP) provides excellent sealing over a long life. Temperature resistance -40°C to 80°C (160°C short term loading).
Lock:
The door includes a 3 point locking system with key-lock swing handle.
Device Mounting Plate:
The device mounting plate is 1.5mm galvanised steel sheet. It is pressed to provide strength. It is pre-fitted into the enclosure as standard. Powder coated RAL9010 pure white.
Surface Treatment:
UL approved AkzoNobel polyester powder coated with a smooth gloss finish, 80-120 micron average thickness, providing excellent exterior durability and colour retention.
Colour:
